Git is an incredibly powerful source control manager that is quickly replacing everything else, especially when it comes to open source projects-MooTools, jQuery, Ruby on Rails, CakePHP and more all use it. This issue aims to get the beginner up and running with git.
But that's not all. If you're still deploying websites with FTP it's time to graduate to a more automated (and sane) workflow. Git and deployment go hand in hand.
